Please read before placing your order. By submitting a custom engraving request or placing an order, you agree to the policies below.
1. Pricing, Deposits & Cancellations
Custom engraving starts at $60 CAD. Final pricing depends on the design's complexity, size, detail, placement, and materials.
A 50% deposit is required to reserve your custom engraving spot. The deposit is applied toward your final balance and is non-refundable.
- Before your item is sent/dropped off: the deposit may be transferred to a future order or store credit at our discretion.
- Once your item has been received, design work has started, or your design has been approved: the deposit cannot be refunded or transferred.
All payments are processed through Shopify.
2. Custom Designs & Approval
Please provide a clear reference image, logo, design, or description when submitting your request.
Work begins once:
- Your quote has been accepted
- Your 50% deposit has been paid
- Your design has been approved
- Your item has been received
Changes after design approval may result in an additional fee and/or longer turnaround time.
We may decline or adjust designs that are unsuitable for engraving or cannot be completed safely or clearly.
3. Your Item & Engraving Risk
Engraving is a permanent modification and cannot be reversed.
We document the item's visible condition when it is received. Customers should remove loose accessories, detachable parts, and personal items before sending or dropping off their item.
We are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage or wear
- Manufacturer defects
- Issues caused by the item's material, construction, coating, or finish
- Problems resulting from previous modifications
- Conditions outside of our control
If an item is determined to be unsafe or unsuitable for engraving, we may refuse the job before work begins.
4. Visor Road Use
Engraved visors are a cosmetic customization.
Customers are responsible for determining whether their modified visor is legal, compliant, and safe for road use in their area.
Use of an engraved visor on public roads is entirely at the customer's own discretion and responsibility.
Etchedbytara is not responsible for tickets, fines, accidents, injuries, visibility issues, or other consequences resulting from road use.
Customers should inspect their visor before use and should not use it if the engraving affects visibility or otherwise makes it unsuitable for safe operation.
5. Shipping
Sending Your Item
Customers are responsible for safely packaging and shipping their item to the provided address.
Please include your full name and Shopify order number inside the package.
Tracked shipping is strongly recommended. We are not responsible for items that are lost, delayed, or damaged while being shipped to us.
Returning Your Item
Return shipping is included at checkout. Tracking information will be provided once your completed item has been shipped.
6. Event Drop-Off & Pickup
Customers selecting Event Drop-Off will be contacted to arrange an available drop-off and pickup date.
Your item's visible condition will be documented when received.
Completed items will be returned at the arranged event or the next available event.
If you cannot attend pickup, contact us to arrange another event pickup or return shipping.
7. Turnaround & Final Payment
Most custom orders are expected to be ready approximately 1-2 weeks after your design is approved and your item is received.
Turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees. Delays may occur due to order volume, design complexity, shipping, events, or requested changes.
You will be notified when your item is ready and provided with a link to pay any remaining balance.
The remaining balance must be paid in full before your item is picked up, returned, or shipped.
8. Unclaimed Items
Completed items will be held for 90 days after you are notified that your order is ready.
If the item has not been picked up or return shipping arranged within 90 days, reasonable attempts will be made to contact you.
After 90 days, additional storage fees, return-shipping requirements, or other arrangements may apply.

By submitting a custom engraving request or placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these policies.
